Happy Saturday everyone! I normally don’t post on the weekends but today is a very special occasion – I’m happy to announce I’m part of a holiday home tour with 5 others amazing bloggers.
When I found out Comfy + Cozy Are We was the theme, I immediately knew the vision I had for my apartment. I definitely wanted to showcase a white, cozy theme without breaking the bank AND without making the space feel cluttered. Check out below for some tips on how to not let the restrictions of having a smaller space hold you back from decorating for the holidays.
Simple is key when decorating for the holidays. Too many decorations will make your space feel cluttered, small and uninviting. Don’t have room for a tree? No fear! You can still use tree decorations to make a chic holiday statement in your space. For example, I threw some ornaments in a clear bowl with some string lights underneath.
Many people who live in apartments lack a fireplace – the one feature that just screams “the holidays”. I used a pair of command strips to hang my stockings with a miniature wreath in-between. To create the illusion of snow, I added some poly-fil on top of the wreath. In addition, I added a set of string lights to give it that extra pop.
Next, I tied garlands to my curtains. To make the feature unique, I bought a garland with some white flowers on it to compliment the rest of my space.
To give my bar car a touch of holiday cheer, I simply wrapped string lights around the area.
Finally, to add the “cozy” touch to the space, I placed a wicker basket on the floor with a throw blanket and pillow. That simple action just added so much warmth and coziness!
Simple is key to decorating a smaller space for the holidays. I also recommend using neutral colors such as whites, grays and golds in smaller spaces. The more color you use the more cramped your space will feel.
What was the best part of my decorations? I was able to buy them for UNDER $80 AND all through Amazon Prime! I will list links to products below.
