Thank you Onelink by First Alert for sponsoring this post. A smart home should start with smart protection and Onelink by First Alert welcomes you to a smarter, safer home.

Hi everyone! What a week… I’ve been sick with some sort of flu-like virus and feel absolutely crummy. The good news is I’m feeling a tad better which means I was able to type out a brand new post for you all!

Before I begin, I just wanted to point out that this IS a sponsored post. However, it’s important to note that I only recommend items I truly believe in and use myself! The Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm is an item EVERY. SINGLE. RENTER. should own. Let me explain what it is and why you need it:

The Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm is a 2-in- 1 alarm that detects both smoke and carbon monoxide. It will notify you (by phone!) if something is not right in your home, even when you’re away! The alarm also tells you the type and location of the danger and wirelessly interconnects with other compatible alarms. The best part? It’s BATTERY operated! No hardwiring is required which means that this product is R E N T E R-friendly (my favorite words). (The Onelink Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm is offered in both hardwired and battery-powered options.)

Why should every renter be using this? Because as a renter, you DON’T know what type of smoke alarm was originally installed by your landlord. You also don’t know how old it is or even if it works. This product not only offers 2-in-1 protection against smoke and carbon monoxide, but also has voice alerts, letting you know what the issue is AND the location of danger in your home. I can’t preach enough how IMPORTANT safety is, especially in a home that you don’t manage yourself.

If you’re an apartment-dweller, think of ALL the other tenants that live in your building. You can’t control whether they turn off the stove after cooking or whether they unplug their hair appliances after use. The only thing you CAN do is protect yourself and the ones you love in the best way possible. Hint hint: this is it.

To learn more about this alarm and how to install it, watch this:

Just some important installation notes for this product:

  • When installing the product, it should not be placed in the kitchen

  • For the battery version (if installed on the wall), it should be no further than 12 inches from the ceiling

Whether you live alone or with a family, home safety should always be your #1 priority. Onelink makes that super easy. I wouldn’t live in a home without it and neither should you. If you have ANY questions about this product, feel free to reach out to me. Again, I would NEVER recommend a product I didn’t use myself!
